Honey don't you know it's safe for you to cry?

When the world has been unsafe and cruel

Don't you know it's safe for you to fly?

Far away.. where the ocean meets the sky

Where you're hidden in the dark

And your tears are all but dry

Holding it together but everything is a lie

Exposed to hurt before love

And you never really knew why

A safety net you've built so high

Tough skin you've equipped

Never given the option to try

All you know is "my"

And how to get by

Can't sit still long enough

To look yourself in the eye

Still wondering why...

Is love so hard for you to try

Come down from your high

Long enough to sigh

And wave your emptiness goodbye.
